ABOUT PAWS FORWARD WALK & TRAIN

I often see dog handlers frustrated with their dog on a leash while at the same time the dog at the other end is equally frustrated, displaying reactivity (lunging, leash pulling, barking, selectively hearing cues), and other undesirable behaviors. and neither the dog or their person seem to be enjoying the walk. Seeing so much of this, I decided to pull together my years of experience working with dogs to create a Walk & Train program, offering support and guidance, encouraging positive communication and building partnerships.

I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and I continue to refresh myself with the most current, positive reinforcement-based dog training methods. I am continually learning new ways of working with reactivity challenges as well as refining learned, successful strategies, leaning on my 12+ years of experience handling dogs and fostering solutions for guardians’ concerns.

Paws Forward Walk & Train provides short-term services as well as in-depth programs that teach and build on important foundation skills for both the dog and their guardian. I provide hands-on training walks and offer extended support to help you achieve your dog walking goals. I have zero tolerance of adverse or negative physical practices to address reactive behaviors, instead I focus on positive-reinforcement based training methods that will help you walk your reactive or fearful dog, giving them the guidance so they know exactly what is being asked of them.
